Wedding Photography FAQ's

We all know choosing the right Photographer for your Wedding is an important decision.  When choosing the right one, you may have several questions to ask or concerns you want to go over.

How far in advance do I need to book with you?
As far in advance as possible.  1 year is great as we do book fast.  6 months is possible depending on your date.  :)

How long have you been in business?

Since 2014.  Jennifer Tru Photography is licensed and insured.

How many weddings have you shot? Have you done many that were similar to mine in size and style?
15 since 2012.  Indoor and Outdoor.  Don't hesitate to ask to see a full Wedding!  ;)

How would you describe your photography style (e.g. editorial, photo-journalistic,)?
Photo-journalistic & Fashion Editorial.  Portraits of you & yours will be naturally posed to create custom, elegant photos for your photo album and frames.  Getting Ready, Ceremony & Reception are photo-journalistic with little posing when possible (i.e. cutting the cake, throwing the bouquet).  I use both natural and studio light to create stunning portraits.  I use the studio light to either enhance natural and create light.

How would you describe your working style?
I try to stay out of the way and catch most things as they come naturally.  Your day is busy enough.  Though I may pose a few shots here and there if needed (Getting Ready, Cake Cutting, Bouquet Toss, Garter Removal & Toss).  The main choreographing I do is your portraits (semi-posed photos of Bride, Groom and their Wedding Party).  And if you have poses in mind for your portraits, let me know! I'm happy to collaborate on ideas! :)

What type of equipment do you use?
I have two Cannon DSLR Cameras,  4 off-camera flashes with diffusers, light stands to hold the flashes, extra batteries and extra memory cards.  The list can go on.  Know that I do come with plenty of equipment as well as an assistant.  :)

Can I give you a list of specific shots we would like?
Yes! Absolutely!  This is your day!

What information do you need from me before the wedding day?
Addresses of venues, portrait locations and getting ready locations.  Contact information of your vendors (Officiant, DJ, Caterer, Coordinator).   No worries!  I will send out a form that will ask for that info about 6-8 weeks before your day.  :)

Have you ever worked with a Florist? DJ? Coordinator, etc.?
Yes.  I also ask for their information on my forms and contact them accordingly.

How can I make Payments for your services?
After you've had your consultation, booked your date and paid your retainer; You can make payments anytime on your invoice.  I use PayPal, which accepts VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER & AMERICAN EXPRESS.  You do not have to be a member of PayPal to use your debit/credit card, but the option is available.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!  Anything not covered here will be covered at your consultation.  Feel free to make a list of questions you may have and we'll go over them.  :)
